From 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the campus transforms into a hive of vertical studios. In the building, sewing machines chatter like rain. In the Visual Arts studios, the smell of turpentine battles with wet clay. Film students are stealing natural light on the back deck, while Theatre actors block a Chekhov scene in the black box. Because the school is surrounded by a national forest, entertainment often shifts outdoors. Students hike to (yes, that’s the name) to watch meteor showers. They build bonfires on campus where songwriters test out new material. On snow days (rare, but magical), classes are cancelled and a massive snowball fight erupts between the Theatre and Music departments. You will fall in love under the pines
