Fart sings beautifully but reveals it plans to wipe out all carbon-based life to save its people. Morty, realizing he’s been protecting a genocidal entity, eventually kills Fart with a neutrino bomb. The episode ends with Morty in tears, learning: Good intentions can lead to cosmic horror.

Morty gets tired of being the sidekick and uses a forbidden memory device to overwrite Rick’s arrogance — only to become the smartest being in the universe, alone.
