Beyond classes, I would contribute by organizing weekly figure-drawing jams and peer portfolio reviews. At my current high school, I started a small art club where we share unfinished work and give specific, actionable feedback (e.g., “your values here flatten the elbow”). I’d bring that same collaborative energy to Ringling’s 24-hour studio culture.

What draws me to Ringling is the balance of classical technique and experimental risk-taking. Looking at student work from the Visual Development track, I see draftspeople who understand anatomy, light, and color, yet use those fundamentals to build strange, emotional worlds. I want to be pushed by faculty who have worked in the industry, and I want to learn alongside peers who treat critique as a gift, not an attack.

I first realized I wanted to be a visual storyteller while storyboarding a short comic about my grandfather’s immigration journey. Each panel demanded not just drawing skill, but empathy, pacing, and visual clarity. Ringling’s emphasis on narrative-driven art—especially within its Computer Animation and Illustration programs—directly speaks to that need for disciplined creativity.

It sounds like you're asking for help with an submitted via SlideRoom (the platform they use for portfolios and written responses).
