If your HP laptop is crashing, running slowly, showing a blue screen, or acting strangely after installing software, Safe Mode is your best friend. This diagnostic mode starts Windows with only the essential drivers and files, allowing you to fix problems that normal Windows won’t let you touch.

Turn the laptop on . As soon as you see the HP or Windows logo, press and hold the Power button again to force shutdown.

On the fourth startup , let the laptop boot. You will see the blue “Automatic Repair” screen.

Press and hold the Power button until the laptop turns off completely (about 10 seconds).

Keep holding Shift until the screen turns blue and says “Choose an option.”

Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart .
