“Jax,” Marcus says, pulling out his phone. “I’ve got a note for Sludge . What if the sewer musical... has no jokes?”

The studio head, a mercurial tech bro named JAX (40s, hoodie, dead eyes), bursts in. He doesn’t walk; he pivots .

The Studio: Season One – The Cut

The frame is crisp, almost too crisp. Every fleck of peeling paint on the wall of Perspective Pictures ’ legendary B-lot office is visible in high definition. MARCUS (50s, tie loosened, two-day stubble) stares at a monitor. On it, the dailies for "Space Chimps 4" flicker. A chimpanzee in a neon helmet delivers a somber monologue about fatherhood.
