A PC port would finally give this forgotten masterpiece the audience it deserves. Capcom, you’ve given us Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection and a Power Stone collection in arcades. Please, look back at 2006.

Released in 2006, the fourth and final mainline entry was a bold, divisive, and massive evolution of the series. And today, nearly two decades later, it remains tragically stranded on the PS2. The question on every retro-action fan’s mind is simple: A New Dawn, A New Style Dawn of Dreams ditched the fan-favorite samurai, Samanosuke Akechi, for a new protagonist: Soki (aka Hideyasu Yuki). Set 15 years after the original trilogy, the story follows Soki as he battles the Genma (demons) during the rise of the historical Toyotomi Hideyoshi. onimusha: dawn of dreams pc

The PS2 version runs at 480i with a notoriously unstable framerate (often dipping into the 20s during busy battles). Imagine this game at 4K, 144fps. The intricate demon designs and flashy “Onimaku” (critical hit) finishers would be breathtaking. A PC port would finally give this forgotten
